We prepared a pre-application for a conversion of existing buildings and construction of new building to accommodate 290 apartments, 155+ commercial units, 803 units of student accommodation in Wigan.
The site contained a Grade II listed Mill and we had to demonstrate careful consideration of the heritage of the site. We successfully demonstrated how it enhanced the heritage asset, giving it a viable use, reversing existing delay.
We also demonstrated how the land use was appropriate to help meet borough housing needs in a sustainable location, it was viable for housing and had appropriate access.
