Rachel has dealt with a varied caseload during her time as a Planning Officer in her 10 years at local government in the Dorset area. Ranging from householder applications, listed building applications and permitted development enquiries to major agricultural buildings and rural workers dwellings. As well as this major projects work involving large scale housing developments sometimes including employment sites involving negotiating on Section 106 agreements, preparing reports etc.
The Spatial Planning course taken at Oxford Brookes University built her a foundation of knowledge on sustainability issues and international comparisons. The Post
Graduate Diploma in Urban Design specifically improved design skills and Master plan preparations with policy writing.
Following this she has gained experience in neighbourhood planning, building on her knowledge of Urban Design work in the private sector.
Rachel enjoys walking, cycling and attempting to splash about in the water kayaking, paddle boarding and surfing. When she isn’t chasing after her 2 young children.
